Roaming charges

Hi,

I have a pay monthly contract with O2 and have been a loyal customer for more than 15 years.

I am a frequent traveller and always keep roaming switched off and have never had this problem before. On my recent trip to India- I've apparently incurred £55 of roaming charges and 'things I've bought'  despite having roaming off the entire time. I only ever connected to the hotel's free wifi.

Has this ever happened to anyone and if so how did you deal with it? Were the charges refunded?

I've called O2 and they have completed an escalation form but whether this will actually achieve anything I'm not sure.

Thoughts and advice please?

All you can do is ask and hope they view your case sympathetically.

Next time, keep data off completely, not just roaming.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
