So basically I switched to o2 from Vodafone 2 weeks ago and having problems with 4g since. Very occasionally get ok speed 5mbps plus (still not great) but often its less than 1mbps. Switching to 2g/3g can increase is a bit. On Vodafone never had an issue with apps or websites not loading etc always fast data....is o2 really that much worse than Vodafone? May have to cancel contract, got 45g of data a month but with this data speed thats impossible to use.

@SteveJ

Fairly typical for busy areas.

Invariably 3g is faster in those conditions.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Yep I've checked all is good, it's been like this a lot since I switched just guess it's the way it is. Will contact customer service but doubt they can do much. Thanks for replies.

It's fairly typical in parts of London,  cancel under the 14 day change of mind.

@SteveJ  Signal strength and quality should always outweigh any discount you might think you're getting.:smileywink:

Oh I'm in South Devon not London, that was just the speed test server.....I'm not getting any discount atm so my service quality definitely isn't outweighing it at the moment 😁

@SteveJ  If you weren't having problems with Vodafone, why did you switch providers?

Because Vodafone didnt offer me a decent new deal...until I cancelled my contract then they phoned me and offered me a really good deal but id already switched by then and it was too late. Unfortunately they only seem to offer best deals to new customers not current ones. If im honest I didnt think there would be much difference between networks , my fault for not researching before hand, lesson learnt...
