That makes me wonder why Birmingham, UK's 2nd largest city, isn't on the list of 5 chosen? 

Instead they have chosen Leeds (along with London, Edinburgh, Belfast and Cardiff)

I think O2 have offices in Leeds which might have aided their decision. There are a number of major cities where O2 speed is poor and I would hope they will be on the rollout plan quite quickly

Yes, although they have rolled it out in Slough where their headquarters are...

I can understand all the others, just Leeds seems a bit random.

I've replied to another post of yours that explains the reason why B'ham isn't a launch city (also why Manchester still doesn't have the extra spectrum added yet still!)
