We hear so many complaints about O2 CS. For balance I thought I would post my own experience of today.

My two year contract is now finished. I changed my handset to a Note 3 in November still using old 3G sim and remaining on existing tariff.

Today I needed to ring 202 to change to a 12 month sim only tariff. I was quite apprehensive having heard so many horror stories on here about long waits, calls being cut off etc....

I phoned at 8.40 am. After a few seconds I was connected and prepared myself for the long wait.

What a surprise.

Within a minute i was put through to a lovely advisor (Marie) who dealt with my request in a helpful professional manner. She was an absolute joy to talk to. I was told my new tariff changeover would take place within 24 hrs

Text has already been received to confirm it has now changed.

Total time on the phone 10 minutes

Well done O2. Thanks to Marie (based in Rotherham call centre) It was a real pleasure talking to you wink

O2 would make an awful football team.

They would snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Then again I read in the Daily Mail today 394000 nett subscriber gain in the last quarter (iPhone release) so someone somewhere happy

Well after yesterday's very pleasant experience it was a bit annoying. At least I know the excellent advisor I dealt with did not actually prepare the sim for dispatch ......that would have been someone else's job Smiley Frustrated

And as I was never going to do the sim swap myself...hey it's no big deal.

However I have already been told they should come with adaptors where necessary...so this is a failing on the part of O2.

Yes they would be... I expect the adaptors are more expensive.... which is probably the reason they never sent one of those ....

As today seems to be quite a 'grim day' for O2 I thought I would post something that shows all is not bad news.

After the speedy trouble free contract change (to sim only) on Friday...today I went into my local O2 store for them to do the sim swap.

I let O2 do it as I was told it can be quite a quick process. In I went. Note 3 at the ready with all my documents showing I had changed tariff....

Young female assistant....scored points immediately by making a comment on the 'smashing' colour of my Note 3. It's Merlot Red..... (well done lass, you hooked me in with that).

The sim was swapped within 5 minutes. no problem at all. One amusing moment when she said "There you go...A 4G sim with Unlimited texts and minutes and 3gb of data....but... you haven't used any data?"

I just replied jokingly...Yes...and your point being???

She nearly fell off her chair laughing. We parted on good terms and I am sure she will smile about the no data usage for the rest of the day...LOL

Job done ...painless and uncomplicated. ..
