Just got this text message from O2 saying that the two actually useful features of Ask are going..

Are you serious, O2?

First they takeaway Tu and now Ask, I’m disappointed but not surprised.

If it looks broken, then it's probably broken.

I'm quite shocked. This was supposed to be the answer for all those with little or no signal at home after the shocker about TU. The Ask app is a dead duck now so they may as well withdraw it altogether.Anything that app will do after August is already available via My O2 so I just don't see the point of it. I've lost count of the schemes, the apps and the services that O2 have started then cut.

The only thing that I can see that it does the My o2 doesn't is that you can use it to talk to live chat.
Not that you would particularly want to do that anyway...

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).

My main reason for using the app is for WiFi calling on my IPad which does not have a SIM card. Is there an alternative once the functionality is switched off?

No, this was the alternative after they killed Tugo!
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

The latest handsets should handle wifi calling through volte enabled devices and coverages.

You can of course use WhatsApp or Facebook messenger though I have my doubts about how trustworthy the data retention of the latter company.

I’m not shocked too,  I didn’t like o2 ask at all I have to be honest.  I didn’t find it easy to use nor did it always retrieve my account info quickly.

my o2 on the other hand is a superb app and this can be further enhanced.  Why have 2apps when one can do it.  Spend time and money on My o2 and make this the main 1app for all o2 to use.

Much simpler and and easier to control and manage.

All the other networks don’t have 20 different apps.  But you can still speak to customer care chat through the 1 app they have.

but one app I do miss and I know lots do, TUGo. This was a truly amazing app that was removed.  Such a shame.

but hey ho.

Need Help, Just ask. We are one big Family here in the o2 Forum.
Use iPhone XS Max dual sim, SE, Honor 10, IPad Pro 11, Apple Watch 4 LTE, 100+ Mpbs Barrier and a Record Player.
