Tell you what doesn’t make sense, o2 ES seems to running as a MVNO to Telefonica and in competition to Movistar.
Im wondering if there trialing it first to see if o2 takes off in Spain?

Yes it is. It also owns O2-UK. It was taken over by Telefonica in 2005.
Up till now though you don't see O2 in Spain. The network of choice is Movistar. I presume we will be able to choose O2 when we go to Spain, once it's up and running...

I could never understand why the parent company didn't have a network of choice in their own country. Still, it's only taken 20 years or thereabouts.
