Moving SIM to new phone

I bought a new phone and moved my existing O2 SIM into it and set the phone up. O2 then texted me a 'Welcome to O2.... ' message followed by a new password message. Why has this happened? I've had to manually reset my account password back to what it was. Has this happened to others?

No, I've never had that happen to me.
Might be a new security feature but otherwise no idea.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
OnePlus 6 (O2 & Sfr), Z3 Tablet (Three UK), iPhone 8+ (EE)

Must be a glitch as I upgraded a month ago. Had the standard welcome to O2 text but not the second one that you describe
