To have voicemail message to text message?

Because I'm deaf myself and I cannot use 901 to listen to a message.

I can't relying on my Dad to listen to any of private messages.

For example; when someone (like a friend) rings my mobile and leave a message on the voicemail and then a text comes up for me to read what they are saying in voicemail.

Hope that make sense 😐

Like this; "Hello, this is Laura, I'm just testing to see if you have received a text of what I have said on voicemail."

Hope to hear from you grin

Hi Laura2009

This link to RNID may be of some help. It is a free trial for a paid for service run by a company called Spinvox. You could try a Google search on "voicemail-to-text" as I think there are several others doing it. Some will only work in the US though. I believe the service is available for Blackberry users for about £5 a year.
Best of luck with it.

The tech simply can't cope with this yet - human speech, languge and dialect make it intensely difficult to bring speech into words.

But there has been a recent development in outsourcing such jobs to people as piecework.
They will get a few pence for doing it and for some it's a living.

Good luck in finding a service - when you find one let us know!

It's fully automated voice recognition. They do some other clever stuff other than voicemail to SMS as well. One thing I set up was being able to call a number and speak and then this then becomes my Twitter update, which is good for micro-blogging while driving.
