The only issue I find with this is that now the only way you can share information is likely to be through Google+

I agree, but little startups like Waze are always bound to get gobbled up by the big boys. The positive about it is that Facebook had also put in a bid, but were beaten by Google. I'm glad their bid was unsuccessful.

I agree again, but hopefully Google hasn't bought Waze in order to obliterate it. Google maps are pretty good, so with any luck they will incorporate the good from Waze. In any event, I still say it's better than Facebook having bought it. I think that would have been disastrous.
