Annoying little bugbear of mine (and have been discussing this with Marjo) so it would be interesting to ask the regulars...
@MI5 is exempt 
Every time we went up a rank we were informed via an auto generated PM and email.
Since Mercedes left I have never had any notification that I have moved up a rank. I only know if I notice a change on my avatar.
I know @Glory1 is the same. She is never informed nowadays.
So who else is left out...and who gets a PM informing them of change of rank?

Oddly, I did used to get them in pairs, one for the level I was on, one for the level I'd gone up to.
It did wander off topic @pgn but as I started the thread I wasn't concerned. It opened up the whole issue of forum changes again and put a different slant on it when all of the regulars complained about lack of consultation or even a trial.
If nothing else it goes to show we are still unhappy/miserable/furious about the changes.
I think the designers hope we will slowly stop moaning and accept the hideous banner. No, we wont!
By the way, thanks for answering the original post about lack of levelling up notifications.
It proves that most of the people who replied here no longer get anything at all.
Like you, I used to get two at the same time.

I'd just like to add my 2c worth...
That is by far, the worst front page Ive ever experienced on a mobile site.
Why in god's name is the banner accommodating 50% of a display that's 18:9 aspect? And on 16:9 it's worse!
Once you add in the oversized personal info links you are left with one line of user content, one single line.

Thank you @EmilieT. So my notification was clearly a fluke. Not to worry will continue to keep my eyes peeled till I hear further from you or @Marjo.
