Thanks Chiara and all. I certainly received quicker and more useful responses on here than when speaking to O2. Only when the complaint was raised officialily did something begin to happen. Hoping that is the end of it now.

Really has made my day and restores some faith when people are willing to help strangers.

Pleased to hear that this will hopefully have a positive resolution for you. Chalk this up to a learning experience, and in future, don't just take someone's word for it that all will be okay. Get it in writing!
