It's not a huge surprise, in town we have 2 standalone CPW & 1 in PCWorld.. over saturation is not exactly the best business model

I have been able to check the O2 shop, ask about offers on a handset, then go down a floor in the shopping centre, get the same phone/handset from CPW for 20quid less, including the obligatory £10 SIM card, go back up to the O2 shop and get them to transfer the number and balance to the new (nano) SIM (PAYG).
O2 Gurus in-store said they saw it frequently, where O2 could not price match the other outlet elsewhere in the same shopping centre - but as an existing O2 customer, they were happy enough to perform the transfer service for me (older daughter, actually).
Odd, the way the world works.

I used online for my grandsons last phone. Pity they can't keep the online service going.
