Bolt On Data Allowance Expiry

Just a quick question - do you think it's fair that when you buy extra data it has an expiry date? Personally I don't, I have bought and paid for something, I don't expect to have to give it back.

I understand that normal monthly allowance resets each month but why does data that you have bought as a bolt on have to expire? Other bolt ons don't expire.

Just wondering Don't know

@FiJona data bolt ons do carry over for 1 month. They do not expire at the end of the current month of purchase.

Yes I know - but it does expire after a month.

My question was, is that fair and for what reason does it have to expire?

Probably not fair but it's the way all the networks make money. From data. Minutes and texts they give away, data hungry customers are where the real huge profits come

Agreed - but still doesn't explain why it should expire?

I need food every week which I buy - but the supermarket doesn't ask me for the food back that I didn't use last week!

They don't, but if you don't use it, you throw it away....
But the answer to your question is simply "more profit"

I keep my food until I use it, not in the habit of throwing it away...

Yes, I guess to screw more money out of loyal customers is what it's all about.

Yes... And they lull you into thinking you need more and more by offering deals like:
