8k xuhd tv

Ok I've seen these things pop up in adverts recently. I was wondering how far companies like samsung will go.

Will the advent of 80"+ displays eventually become a more financially friendly alternative to going to the cinema. And will eastenders will have a higher extremity of misery when shown.

There is very few examples of 4k use other than a handful of sport channels, bluray, video games on Xbox one and ps4.

Whilst native 4k display is good I just don't see the advantage from a real-world point of view.

If you have megabucks to waste and want to be the first on your block to have one, you'll still be waiting years for 8K TV's to be available. Large 4K TV's (75") are way overpriced even now, so I'd say 8-10 years, or maybe slightly less time than that before 8K is available at a reasonable price. At the moment, it's no more than industry hype.

I've had emails from Samsung regarding their 8K TVs. Well out of my price range, even if I had a flat large enough to take, or need, a 50"+ TV. I'm quite happy with my 32" full HD 3D TV. 

I admit I wouldn't mind a 4K TV but again the screens are way too large for my small flat. And the 4K TVs that are also 3D are again too pricey.

And why do I want a 3D TV? Because I have a large collection of 3D films. So, for the moment I'll stick with the TV I have, thanks.

I bet you couldn't believe you'd won the TV till it turned up @Poppysmum. I would've been the same. It's the sort of prize you read about other people winning but never expect to win yourself.
