wifi hotspots

dioes anyone else expieriance real sluggish and slow speeds with unrelliable connections with o2 hotspots??

I just had this happen to me in Central London. There were a huge amount of people, perhaps they were all using it at the same time.

Anyone else use these hotspots - what do you think?

Never had a problem with them myself up this end of the country. Maybe it is congestion or it could be a problem in that particular area.

It all depends on how populated the area a hotspot is in. If there's quite a few ppl using it, then it certainly impacts speeds.

There's a particular hotspot in Brighton that I use, and when the place is empty (usually earlier in the day) then I can get over 20mb downloads. However if I try I the afternoon, it's often so slow that the opensignal speed checker actually fails...

It's all about congestion I believe.
