satisfaction text from HQ today

had a feedback text today asking what I thought of 02. I was not very happy with coverage and will not be recommending the service.

Funnily enough, I was outside my unit a while ago and text the wife to get her to get dinner started. My unit is 5 miles from home. I sent the text at 18.35. I then drove home, at normal speed no hold ups. I was sat in the kitchen eating tea when the messages came in to the wife's 02 phone, at 19.05.

thats 30 mins to travel 5 miles . pretty poor coverage from the top of a hill with the same provider. 

trying to get to a contact page online to report is a nightmare. to think I left Vodafone for this service.

Imagine, if i had had an accident and needed help!!

In the case of dialling 999 or 112 your phone will connect to any UK network in order for the call to be made, only if all 4 MNO's have no signal will a call be impossible to the emergency services. 

Out of curiosity did you not check mobile signal in the area before jumping from Vodafone? And not just by trusting a computer generated coverage checker... even Vodafone's is a load of tosh?  

No network guarantees 100% coverage, so there will always be black spots...

Also have you checked https://status.o2.co.uk and checked for any service issues in your area?

I moved from Virgin Mobile, which uses Vodafone, and had the same shock. I live in Birmingham City Centre, and I need to travel a bit with work... In the first week I think I've reported over 15-20 blackspots in town. 

I did not check the network, honestly, as I said major cities must be covered by all major networks... Boy, was I wrong. 

3/5 restaurant I've been to, the internet ea that poor that I've could not order food via an app. 

A bit surprising to be fair. And this issue extend over 2-3 regions around the town, plus some other places outside the county. 

Signal shows OK, internet works like in 2010.

Did you have any signal bars at all, @chaz4?
