hi i just thought id make a comment about how high the tax is on the phone bills its ridiculas the tariffs cost enough as it is ...... i m being charged over a fiver extra a month vat surely when i first took out tariff shoulda been a fixed rate until contract has ended???? dont know if anyone else feels like this i just thought id have a moan about it as its disgraceful .

The government has classed it as VAT rateable so there is no choice in the tax and in the T&C's, that rate can change subject to the government. The tariffs on the other hand is variable so the tax is based on that amount. But it is your choice whether you want to pay that and get a free phone or do something else to reduce your monthly outgoing e.g. sim free, PAYG, payment towards handset cost.

the business tariff page are shown with out vat the consumer tariff page show including vat business tariffs are not the same as consumer tariffs no direct comparisons as there are different benifits for business users

It's standard practice for business to business to quote prices exclusive of VAT as in most cases that VAT can be offset against VAT they collect before paying HMRC.
Consumer pricing should make it clear what price you expect to pay.
