I have today received 2 calls to my mobile, I answered the 2nd time as the code is used by our surgery. It was a lady claiming to be from 02. I told her I dealt with my account online only but she was adamant I had to answer her questions on the phone. She hung up when I stopped responding, am I correct in thinking this is a scam?

Most likely @KarenM63 .

o2 very rarely make outgoing calls, apart from their "trusted partners" (who also shouldn't be trusted).

@KarenM63 You did the right thing. Never agree to or accept any offers or send a code to anyone who cold calls you, no matter who they say they are. When they hung up after you stopped responding they just moved on to the next potential victim. Happens thousands upon thousands of times a day across all networks worldwide. Unfortunately it's out of control at the moment and many will be scammed until a solution can be found.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
