o2 travel useless

Anonymous
Not applicable
rang o2 as I was goung abroad and joined the o2 travel package ..was told unlimited data in Belgium and NLands. Worked for less than an hour and travelled the length of B and NL without data ..even though was seeing H+ .. as I was travelling through the night wanted to listen to election results coming in. When I asked what I had paid for via live chat got all sorts of excuses and when it was clear I was not going to be fobbed off the agent said I had disappeared and ended chat..... I used a 3 UK sim in France and all worked perfectly.

Hi @Anonymous In answer to the response you directed to me..... O2 Gurus aren't part of the forum. It is monitored by a Manager @Marjo and two community co-ordinators @Toby and @Anonymous. Some O2 staff do post here but purely in a private capacity.

I will leave @MI5 to respond to the issue you asked him about.:smileyhappy:

O2 don't state a limit (of course) but that is knowledge gained from experience - which is what a customer forum is all about sharing.
The official statement from O2 is:
"* There's no upper usage limit, but data speeds will vary with usage."
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

Hi Perksie, I had already checked the Ts and Cs before signing up to the 'unlimited service'

So you've seen this section:

"There's no fixed data allowance with O2 Travel, but we'll slow down the service if you reach an assumed fair usage amount in order to manage traffic on the network. This will be more than 100MB of general data or more than 50MB of streamed video or audio data (the "assumed fair usage amounts") in a day ."

Hi Mi5

Yes, I can read wink !

More info

''500 MB of streamed audio''.. not ''100MB of general data'' ..

AGAIN, in 75 mins I would not have streamed 500 MB

Update

This customer experience of O2's roaming package suggests that being bought by 3 will be no bad thing.

Will cancel my contract today

I didn't ask if you could read.....?

But it's 50mb of streamed audio, not 500mb wink

You can't unless you have reached the end of the contract.

Although you could pay it off, it's up to you if you feel strongly about it though to be fair, o2 have laid everything out with the information they made available to you.

Yes..I can't read 50mb....pathetic...

However if the apologists amongst you think that is acceptable ..I beg to differ.

As the contract was sim only cancelling was no big deal.

Conclusion... O2 travel is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard
