o2 lack of loyalty rewards

Anonymous
Not applicable

Ive never written anything on here regardless of how irked ive been but i guess today i had an incentive.

Being an o2 customer for probably a decade sometimes paying bills in excess of £200, i thought the least that loyalty would get me was a new phone at in the least the same price or tariff as the competitors (no less mind).

I refused to switch to the competition even when they offered me better deals, but the day my choice became match a deal every one else offers or leave, the company was happy to end our relationship.

I could not believe staff telling me to find a friend to use their personal rewards and that "o2 rewards" is unique just so they could compete with their own price hike. FYI i can (and will) have 20% off Vodaphone through work already and every company that offers the phone had a parallel anytime upgrade anyway... Tesco, Voda..all of them. Good luck with these guys..hope your experiences leave a less bitter taste in your mouth.

O2 long since speed matching competitors and loyalty has been removed from their dictionary. The only incentive to stay with o2 these days is coverage and a Refresh contract. Always go for the best deal for yourself bit check coverage using P&G sims before committing to a contract.

Check coverage with other networks PAYG sim cards then choose the cheapest deal with the best coverage for you.

The only loyalty you get from O2 is the refresh tariff

Interestingly I've just been phoned by O2 as my contract is up shortly stating that as I've been with them for years, I have a 'loyalty bonus' and can get various deals including a tablet for 40% less... free phone contract for a year would be what I actually want, but found it odd I was offered something without asking.

If indeed it was o2, maybe they are realising that fair deal for all alienates all contract customers.

6 months ago I was given a reasonable loyalty discount by O2 for staying and renewing my contract.

Note 9. O2 since 2007.
