o2 guard

I have a malware/virus issue on my a3. I was recommended to get an amazing bit of software called o2 guard by a member of staff in my local store. After some considerable digging I found it, I paid for it, the charge is already showing on my next bill, I'm apparently supposed to receive a text to activate it. I do however have a text to cancel the subscription, I contacted a guru online who told me to go to a link which I couldn't open. Does anybody know what to do short of taking my phone back to the silly man and throwing it at him. I did also try calling customer services, after half an hour on hold for another guru with all the ooops messages online I gave up.

Out of interest, could I ask how you know that you already have a virus on your A3?

If what you're talking about is O2 Protect, from the look of this link it appears that it was only a beta and isn't working any more: http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Discussions-Feedback/O2-Protect-beta/td-p/827637/page/2

Apart from anything else, if you think you already have a virus on your phone, running an anti-virus app won't help. Best thing to do would be to speak to Samsung tech support.

If you look at my first link I think during beta testing it was called O2 Protect but is now available as O2 Guard? You pay for one device for a £1.00 a month or up to 5 devices for £3.00...

The worst you will have is an airpush ad on your phone.
Simply download airpush detector free off Google play store and it will identify the culprit for you.

Thanks @Cleoriff but I was referring to the last poster in the link in my post who as late as only a month ago was saying that the app wasn't working. Maybe it is now, but frankly, as @MI5 has said, there are many free apps to detect problems, and the OP probably doesn't need to go shelling out money for an app that may not help.

I still get an "ooops" error when i open the link. Every now and again i get a message via facebook/firefox telling me i've won something, my phone vibrates a lot, i cant stop it without closing the app. Sometimes i miss my 3210.... sometimes....

Just download airpush detector.
It will remove your pop ups for free.

Cheers MI5, it seems to have worked. Im not sure what it did but ive not had a popup since.

Anything above jellybean you really don't need the app as you can long-press on the pop up and it should tell you which app is producing the ad. Most are generated by Google though...
