Hi

I've spoken to a few other members @Toby and it seems the forum is going down intermittently.

And for me...3 other forums, FB, Amazon, Ebay, Google, Asda and others...were easily accessible

I don't disbelieve you Nick, (I don't know enough about the internet to argue:smileywink:) but it all seems a bit

weird to me, that out of all those... it was only this site affected (For me).:smileysad:

After reading the article it said Amazon was blocked...no...not for me?)

Hi @Cleoriff

As BoB's telegraph piece says, some users were affected to specific sites and others couldn't get online at all.

Then I will HAVE to believe it then:smileyhappy:

Such a pity, as when I started off I was ready to take O2 on and demanded an explanation LOL

OK...so now I have another question for internet experts everywhere...

If I had been in Spain...using my netbook which is powered with a Spanish orange sim would I have had this problem?

Added info. The netbook was bought in UK and set up in UK...with my email address etc linked to BT

It is used in Spain only.....I hope someone will enlighten me? Smiley Frustrated

If the sites you were trying to access were hosted here and were affected by this mornings outages then I don't think it would matter where you were trying to access from our how, the issue would be with the Backhaul at the sites end, not your device or network operator.

So If o2 forum was down and it was hosted in the uk and required bt Backhaul to get to it, as that part of the network was unusable for some it all users it would remain unusable regardless.

@Anonymous   One thing I think I have finally learned is that when there is a problem such as we had this morning -  I must not automatically assume that the problem lies with my equipment or settings. In the past I have spent a lot of time fiddling about doing resets, un-installing and re-installing this that and the other only to find eventually that the problem was on the network. So now, admittedly with great reluctance and evident withdrawal symptoms, I walk away from the computer, switch off the mobile and go do something else for an hour or two by which time usually the fault has been rectified.
