o2 driving customers away - severe issue with contract terms

Anonymous
Not applicable

signed up to o2 last september and then was hit by the increase in january.. i signed up to the on and on contract which i have now found out cannot be changed to a lower tarriff.. this even though the tarriff i am on is now avail for £10 less a month....

this was never disclosed to me as a special contract as it is basically the basic tarriff that 02 try to sign you up to these days...

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT O2 ARE TRAPPING THEIR CUSTOMERS IN CONTRACTS THAT THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OVER UNTIL RENEWAL .. I CAN VERIFY THAT I WILL BE MOVING TO ANOTHER NETWORK ASAP..

Perhaps it's just me but I read and research everything before taking out a contract. Good luck with finding a mobile company with integrity though:smileywink:

It's not just you. We live in the so called Information Age where everything you could want to know is a few short keystrokes on your search engine of choice.

There's little excuse for claiming ignorance these days.

Weirdly I thought this was a forum for free discussion - obviously missed the part about the thought police in the T&Cs.

It is for free discussion I'm not stopping you from discussing your point of view my friend. I'm just describing my point of view that as an adult you're in charge of your ability to process information. If you read the T&Cs which you must of as you accepted them I can't understand why your now querying it?

Jonsie what are you playing at! Get another pint in (or cocktail idk;)) and just be sure to avoid the pretty ladies that also come with their own "cocktail";) if you catch my drift slight_smile

I should add telepathic I would happily go to a company who show superior ethics. However the companies that have ethics are the ones who are not doing so well/don't exist anymore. The days of a contractual handshake are long dead and buried:(

I'd love to trust people(customers) however having being burnt to the tune of £1100 by my second customer when starting my business I quickly learnt that you have to cover yourself in legalities just to protect your investment. It's not unethical it's just a fact of life for me now. O2 being a humongous(is there a bigger word?) amount larger than myself probably learnt this many times over and as such protect themselves.

Every time I buy a contract, I make sure I read everything first then double check it before I sign anything, just another person not wanting to pay an extra few pence for something that they think they should do it the way they prefer, everyone's prices go up, it's a fact of life. Next time buy sim free or stick to pay as you go

You post a sensible argument and we'll be happy to listen.

I won't... I've switched this thread off now....
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.
