o2 driving customers away - severe issue with contract terms

signed up to o2 last september and then was hit by the increase in january.. i signed up to the on and on contract which i have now found out cannot be changed to a lower tarriff.. this even though the tarriff i am on is now avail for £10 less a month....
this was never disclosed to me as a special contract as it is basically the basic tarriff that 02 try to sign you up to these days...
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT O2 ARE TRAPPING THEIR CUSTOMERS IN CONTRACTS THAT THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OVER UNTIL RENEWAL .. I CAN VERIFY THAT I WILL BE MOVING TO ANOTHER NETWORK ASAP..

oh so tying your existing customers to a contract that wasnt explained to them fully is ok is it.. also look at the message boards on other sites and you will find many unhappy o2 customers.. fixed term contract is fixed unless your o2 who seem happy to change it ...
as with nearly all other mobile companies and contracts you can downgrade within certain points of a contract .. with o2 on and on you cant and this isnt explained when taking it out...so why not take your sarcy comment elsewhere

Can't see your point that O2 is driving customers away? Tariffs and offers are always under review, hence trying to make them competetive and enticing customers not driving them away.
Offers are a fact of life, buy something today and you're bound to see it cheaper the week after (that's how it goes for me anyway).

Just because something is contractually watertight doesn't make it ethical. Nor does it incline towards any kind of customer/brand loyalty. NOT companies behave this way - I'd rather go to a company with some integrity, even if I have to pay a bit more quite frankly. I've been an O2 customer for about 15 years and they used to be a bit different, but over time, I think they've become a complete rip off - their business model appears to rely on profiteering from locked in customers in any way they can rather than loyalty and repeat business - won't be touching them with a barge pole in future.

The idea of being an adult is that your old enough to read them and understand a fair amount of what is written. If you can't you shouldn't really be entering into a contract.
It's the same malarky with these PPI claims they wernt miss sold if you had taken the time to read contracts it was in there. I never accepted them and I didn't pay PPI.
Unless you can't read you have no excuse these days!

18 is "supposed" to be an adult I don't believe you should be allowed to be legally deemed an adult until you can demonstrate you're capable of making decisions thoughtfully. Maybe some form of reading/writing exam:/(shame you can't test "common" sense ("" used because its not so common anymore))
I have no idea where that "amp;" came from sorry.
