iphone warrenty on refurbished phone help

hi
i had an iphone which last year got water damage it was within the warranty by 3 weeks so apple offered me a replacement refurbished phone for 130 as i had six months left of my contract to go i took this offer
i have had the refurbished phone since september 09

In the last week the microphone no longer works so although i can hear people they cant hear me everthing else on the phone work fine ie internet text music ect
the only way that i can talk is by using a handfree headset with a microphone

dose anyone know what the warranty is on such a refurb phone

apple have said i would have to pay another 140 to get another refurb phone even though the fault is clearly with the phone and not nothing that i have done to it which i obvioulsy dont want if there is no warranty or guarantee

my contract is up next month but i wanted to put the iphone on a payg anyway and not have a contract

any advice on the warranty on such refurb /replacement phones would be much appreciated

ok many thanks bloody wish that they would have told me that im going to cancle my contrat with o2 now as its almost out and just stick a payg sim into phone

dose that 3 months apply to it when you buy a refubished iphone which is not a replacement

Apple do not give 3 months warranty on a refurb, they give 12 months on a refurb.

"All Apple Certified Refurbished Products are covered by Apple's One-Year Limited Warranty. For extended coverage, you have the option of purchasing the AppleCare Protection Plan with your Apple Certified Refurbished Product. The AppleCare Protection Plan extends the complimentary coverage on your Apple Certified Refurbished Product to up to three years of world-class support for Mac, and up to two years of world-class support for iPod, iPhone, and Apple TV. Apple have a policy of treating all of their refurbished products as new, and thus offer 12 months warranty on everything, you can buy apple care which will extend you warranty for a whopping 3 years! Quite pricey but worth it

All you need to do is go book an appointment at the genius bar for your nearest apple store, go meet the concierge and take it from there

You are quoting for buying a refurb please link me to where the iphone is available for sale from alpple as a refurb and cost as opposed to non warranty replacement. Tell me on this page http://store.apple.com/uk where you can just buy an iphone on refurb without handing damaged iphone back.( I see refurb macs and Ipods but no iphones) That is what the Warranty info you have posted relates to. Also note discounts are 0-34% for refurb macs and ipods not around 75% that a non warranty replacement is supplied at

If anyone is reading this thread and has taken a refurbished iPhone as an upgrade / purchased one from o2 then rest assured that these handsets all come with a 12 month warranty. It's the apple store replacements that basically have 3 months on them.

They're NOT talking about a refurb you buy for over £300, they are talking about refurbs supplied as a replacement for a broken phone for which you pay £140. Different rules.
