how does O2 lose 830,000 Spanish customers in six months ?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Is this a world record ? Are Spanish Telcos that uncompetitive ?

Telefonica drop 830K customers between April & August this year and Vodafone, in a close run race, shed 639K. Execs at Spanish competitors Orange and Yoigo all get FAT bonuses feeding off the carcasses of former Telefonica/Voda customers.

It seems Vodafone are now giving away iPhone 5s on 4G with unlimited calls/texts/web to stop the haemorrage of customers.....for Euros35 pcm !!! & Telefonica belatedly slash prices of Phone\Broadband\Mobile packages by 40% to halt the slide. I wont even bore you with the Jazztel offer; it'd make you sick with envy.

Market forces at work. Can we have some please ?

Meanwhile back in Blighty totally uncompetitive 02 get ready to shaft this customer with a revised monthly bill for his Simplicity based S2. Up to £24 from a £13.80. Not happening; I remember when Simplicity Tariffs didnt subsidise O2's corporate excesses and had unlimited data (2007).

Now where's that Tesco Mobile number ...?

Not as surprised as I am. & its warmer. Just look at the cost of Vodafone's 'give away' iPhone 5 deal compared to any UK telco based tariff. We need the EU Commissioners in Brussels to slap them all and have better (cheap) EU tariffs.

Look I respect your opinions but can you please;

1) stop advertising tesco mobile
2) post in the off topic section. Or even discussions. This is not the correct area.

O2 doesn't appear to be phased by competition mentioned within their forums.

If I wanted to hear about tescos mobile I'd join their forums haha.

I can see what the op wants and I agree(or did) but I don't think posts like these are going to get everyone to don their V for vendetta masks and revolt against O2.

Indeed, however they appear to be fairly well spoken:) makes a nice change:)

Toby out of pure interest you and Leonard mentioned you'd only add subsections when enough threads were started to call for one.

I would like to suggest in the discussions and feedback section a "Rants" subsection. I believe there is ample demand:)
