There is no way to de-activate or delete your online account. I believe it self deletes after 6 months of no usage. Apparently even O2 will not delete it for 6 months in case of future queries.

The accounts don't self delete, I know there are logins I created years ago that are still there despite not ever touching them.

So O2 were fobbing me off last January when I asked them to delete 2 linked accounts? I had an email telling me that they can't close them but if I didn't sign into them for 6 months they would expire and delete.
Mind you the email was full of fractured English and strange phrasing. Maybe I will try to sign into one of them. Thanks for the heads-up canwefixit.
EDIT : Seems I can't sign into the accounts so summats happened to them!

Yes, your online account will automatically get deleted if you stop using it for 180 days. Just stop accessing that account for 180 days and it'll get deleted.
But, the above statement is not valid in regards to your billing account.

That really isn't true.
