I've found a spot in Bristol where there's a bit of O2 4G slight_smile - along with Vodafone 4G too!

It was found on a network search on a Nokia Lumia 1020... just a shame on that phone there is no way to connect to it! Must have been a weak signal as the phone seemed to prefer the 3G signal. Wish I had a phone that allowed me to just to connect to 4G - I'd have been able to give it a go!!

If you have an Android 4g phone you can go to settings, more networks, mobile networks and select LTE. It won't give you 4g only but if 4g is there and you have a 4g sim and tariff you will connect to it.

I know that's possible on an Android, but not on a Windows Phone which I had.

Otherwise I'd have been able to connect to O2 4G... in Bristol! 😞

This was where I was able to find the 4G... for those interested! EE, Three, O2 and Vodafone 4G is available for here! Only EE 4G will connect automatically. Just behind the Google Street View is the EE/Three mast which only broadcasts EE 2G/3G/4G and Three 3G - so EE will connect automatically to 4G, but because it's possible to pick up Three 4G in this area from a different mast, you'll need to connect to it manually since phone's seem to prefer nearer masts/stronger 3G signal.

Hello,

Just an update on O2 4G in Bristol...

I've been checking "4G Bristol" on Twitter search... it appears that since Monday (4th), O2 are testing in Bristol. On my day off... the geek I am, I went to the reported location where O2 have their 4G mast in the city.

For anyone who wants to test out 4G (not sure how long it will be live for), head to The Dovecote (I've never heard of it, but for anyone who knows... it's a pub) on Ashton Road, near Long Ashton. The mast is in the field behind.

I'm really impressed by the 4G from it slight_smile I'm currently with Three (who cap 4G download speeds for all users all the time), and as soon as O2 fully launch 4G in Bristol, I'll be getting it! Here's some screenshots/links slight_smile

Tested on an LG G3. (Fantastic phone by the way...!)

Definitely going to go with O2 for 4G slight_smile They're the only network that gives me a reliable indoor 3G signal at home in Bristol too!
