I took my first step into tablets a year ago, buying a Hudl2 which I starterd using more and more. Almost overnight, between my phone and tablet I made my laptop redundant for home use. That's when it started.
I have had Sony phones since the original Z and really like them. I wanted the Z2 tablet. After seeing one in the shop I really wanted one but then the Z4 was released. I ordered it blind from O2 click and collect on the basis that its unlikely to be worse than the Z2.
When I opened it I was hugely impressed with the design and quality. Very similar to my Z2 phone. First thing I did was stream a youtube 4k test video to see how it looks on this screen. Quite simply it is sublime. I genuinely dont know how it compares to iPad Air or Samsungs etc but I love it. The screen itself is very reflective, almost mirror like when it is off but when it is switched on I can barely notice, probably because the picture quality draws me in.
Some of the tech review sites are very critical of the bundled keyboard but I like it. Despite it's compact size, it is nice to type on with a nice action on the keys. They are a little cramped but it is worth using the home, back, page up/down keys to minimise smears on the screen (Have I mentioned how beautiful it is?).
One thing about the keyboard is to separate the tablet from it requires some effort. It is very well connected and I must admint I wince each time i remove the tablet from it. A little too much resistance before it finally parts in my opinion.
With the keyboard docked and connected, the tablet displays a windows style taskbar which is quote useful. I won't be using this for too much 'work' though. If I was looking for something like that I would probably have gone for the MS Surface because i would want windows.
I am not convinced that Android can works better than windows and have a laptop for that. This was bought for multimedia/browsing/shopping/etc and I use it daily.
I have had this for 8 months now and have to say that I would not swap it for any other tablet out there. It is expensive but does everything with ease and the battery lasts and lasts. In that time I have not used the keyboard since week 1 - I prefer having a case on the tablet and can't be bothered removing it to dock it to the keyboard.
In short, I am one happy Z4 owner

Nice review @Anonymous. I am currently in the market for a new tablet this size so it sounds good. How much does it cost?
