X10 firmware update, when (if?) is it coming?

Seeing as how the rest of the world has this update (including O2 in Ireland) does anyone know if this will ever see the light of day in the UK?

The last I heard from tech support is that there was 'no timescale' for the new firmware. Back in my dark days in IT that usually meant 'when we can be bothered' or 'never'. A pity, seeing as it solves quite a few issues and improves performance of the phone.

Have O2 gone down the road of the X1, Aino and Satio and just abandoned the X10? Or is it worth waiting? Or do we just de-brand to get support from Sony Ericsson?

Hi guys.

like many of you I have been checking for this update daily for over a month now. I finally got fed up of waiting, espicially as O2 dont even seem to be aware of this update, when every other network is. So I decided to debrand my phone. I tried the method listed in various forums, but unless you are a proper computer geek, it is very difficult. The phones responsiveness has dramatically improved, and the back up and restore function is very useful. You will see for yourselves. I debranded my phone as Sony Ericsson have promised lifetime updates for the X10, but if O2 dont release them, we'll never benefit from them. Besides, debranding the phone has made no apparent change what so ever to the phone and the apps, and everything else is still the same. Anyway, you can always revert back to the O2 branded version at anytime. (but you wont) Goodluck chaps,

I'm also considering debranding my X10 Mini Pro. The battery life is simply not good enough, and O2 need to pull their finger out.

I'd also like a debranding guide for the X10 Mini Pro, I can't seem to find anywhere that offers the firmware. Anyone know?
