I have forced the win10 update on my laptop, its updating as i type. I will update more later assuming I have a working laptop!

On my third pint so caring less by the minute LOL

Only takes 15 minutes to roll back to windows 7 if I need to again. The offer is for 12 months so I may have a new laptop before then.

Just a quick question my laptop that I'm using now is amercian parents bought it there but didn;t like win 8 so I ended up with it I did reserve my free upgrade to win 10 does it make a difference that my laptop is american? havent got win 10 yet

I did checked windows update said it found updates & that it will install them soon

It will automatically download the upgrade. When you open windows update it will ask if you want to install or schedule for later.

You wouldn't have been offered the upgrade if your laptop or pc isn't compatible.
