As per the title, I know it isn't offered on PAYG, but I want to know why. After all, the other provider give it on PAYG.
It was rolled out six years ago, they didn't do this when 3G became 4G.
Does anyone know if it will be made available or do I need to jump ship?

You can't even make calls over 4G and when 3G shuts down it's back to good old 2G for voice.
Your question is one that has been asked many times and O2 are silent on what is happening.
If you want to stay on the O2 network and have both 4G Calling and 5G then the way to go is probably giffgaff

No idea, but if you need to be on O2's network as PAYG, look at giffgaff, @Southsider46 - same network, but with 5G on PAYG.

Good luck!

Probably because of a measure called ARPU (average revenue per user) is very low on PAYG compared to Pay Monthly, add it to the fact PAYG is a loss leader to all MNO's then why bother..
EE dont offer it on PAYG , but VodafoneThree do..
Just port out to giffgaff or to the likes of Smarty or Voxi

I'm not asking about an account. I'm asking about 5G.

I know about Giffgaff, I have a phone on their network, but it's not a 5G phone. The phone I use on O2 (my main phone) is 5G, as are all new phones, yet I can't use that feature.

We here you and as we have said O2 do not offer 5G and other modern features on PAYG. Nor will they tell us their reason for doing so and plans for the future.
End of story

I don't see how it can be a loss leader when it works out being more expensive than a contract.
I don't think the ARPU can be lower either, I know people who go through £50/month on PAYG.

"We here you and as we have said O2 do not offer 5G and other modern features on PAYG."
I said that in my opener. It's not the end of the story, there must be a reason for it, if you don't know, you don't need to comment.

You know you can swap the Sims around if you wish, @Southsider46 - that way you can scoot at 5G rates with your 5G capable phone on the network that gives PAYG customers 5G.
