What happened to my order

hi guys
2 days ago i ordered a Blackberry Curve 3g 9300 on a 24 month contract. I chose for it to be delivered today and it gave me and order reference number but it hasnt come yet. I have realised i have recieved no confirmation emails or texts (except one email telling me my username and password for the o2 website). When i try to track my order on the o2 website it says
We are unable to find any details of your account.

I spoke to an online advisor and they said it seems to be out of stock but no one told me this and surely this is an excuse?
any replies would be much appreciated

I ordered a Nokia 5800 last thursday and am still waiting for delivery. I was told next day delivery so stayed in all day friday for no reason. Was told on Sunday that they were out of stock. Have heard nothing since. the phone is still showing as being in stock on website. Terrible service so far!!!

i think o2 are doin what most businesses are doing now and ordering stock from the suppliers as and when a customer orders it. Probably due to the current financial climate so they dont have to commit themselves to large quantities of stock that they might never shift. but theyve messed up here i think and cant source enough stock. Anyway ive cancelled my order now. they can go to hell!

The same thing happened to me, placed the order, then ignored the order confirmation page as I assumed I would be emailed everything I needed to track the order. No email came through. No details on the order page within my O2 account.
Called Customer Services and they confirmed the order and gave the order number. I don't think they have the phone in stock though, it's the HTC HD7 which was released on the same day as I ordered. So I'm thinking the common denominator here is: no confirmation email if the system says it's not in stock. But I could be wrong.
Baffles me why O2s poor website/systems put strain on the call centre in terms of volume of calls.

I think a lot of the problems on here are due to new contracts being taken out and not on the stock of the handset. Although I know new connections have different stock levels to upgrades/retentions, they are usually similar anyway. A lot of the time when a handset shows out of stock on the system, it never usually is (with a new contract) and it is usually a problem with the actually credit check. I'd advise most of you to ring customer services again and get them to check the notes.
