You can change the greeting to tell people not to leave a message. Info on o2 site with lots of different options.
Default pin code to change greeting is 8705 if you have not changed the pin.

Hope this helps

yep done all that. but last time i was away my mail box filled up real quick (even though i stated "DONT leave a message").

I was with orange and they had an option of not leaving a message. Maybe O2 just dont do it.

((((Im afraid its windy here too)))))

I think that was unique to Orange as they had no customer way of turning voicemail off.

Does not help much anyway. You still get charged for receiving a phone call even if you dont answer because the fact that voicemail is activated measn the caller has got through

I had a row several years ago about these charges and was told I actually get charged twice - once for their call to my phone and once for the voicemail replay to their phone!!!

We always advise that VM is turned off before leaving the UK if travelling outside of the EU now.
