Vodafone To Offer Red+ For Families With Shared Data

Anonymous
Not applicable
http://www.vodafone.co.uk/shop/pay-monthly/red-plus/index.htm

Vodafone have announced they are to offer families a shared data plan. Each user would have unlimited minutes and texts and the leader would have between 2gb and 13gb of data shared across the group.

1 bill.
Controls on who uses the data.

Will o2 follow? Is this a game changer like it has been in the US?

Thank you for sharing the link @Anonymous

A very interesting way forward which I'm sure is going to help families.

Be interesting to follow this one.

@Toby ~ @Anonymous do you have any news if O2 are aware / looking at this ?

As EE also do it I would expect O2 will have to if they wish to stay competitive?

I imagine anyone with kids might find this useful. Unlimited calls and texts ensures limited risk of large bill and the account can be controlled by the parents.

Data can also be shared and / or restricted across each individual user by the parent.

Sounds like a good set up.

Most definitely.

I can just see people arguing with the master account holder that they want more data / minutes wink

Do the washing up and you can have more Data type scenario.

Can tell you have kids BoB.

In the US these types of plan are all the rage and T Mobile have created a more competitive environment there bringing costs down.

I think this is great for couples and families.

This Vodaphone Red plan is getting a lot of airtime via TV advertising. I didnt realise other networks did a similar scheme.

Also pleased to see it is ONE adult who controls the data shareout wink

Cracking idea and hopefully O2 will get their own version of a family tariff launched quickly. They do seem to be falling behind their competitors lately.
