I've just had my O2 bill for November and it's at least ten times the normal amount. Analysis of the bill shows that one call (to our landline at home) at about 9.15 one evening, lasted 7 hours and cost about £100.
I remember the call and it was just a 10-second request for my husband to collect me from our village hall.
Are there grounds for challenging this charge?
Are calls not automatically terminated after a period of inactivity?

I guess this could have happened if you didn't end the call properly.
Have a word with O2 and explain, they might reduce it for you.

Can you get an itemized bill from your home phone provider if your landline calls to see if they mirror each other.

@bob incoming calls will not show on a landline bill

Not typically no but I have come across people on other forums who say they have had assistance from b.t in similar situations.
Maybe they could show the incoming call time length for that call. It can't harm to ask.

BT will not give you this information which is only collected for network performance purposes.
This sounds like an unterminated call so it's up to O2 whether they can help or not.

I can only pass on what I've seen in the past. I'm with bt but have never had to request this.
As I said theirs no harm in asking if the OP wants to challenge the call length time and cost.
Assuming the OP is actually with b.t!
