Unlimited texts.

Anonymous
Not applicable

I've been on o2 for quite a while now and unlimited texts used to mean 12000 texts but now they've changed it so whenever I check to see how many texts i have left it says how mnay I have up until 3000 but then when I've used them 3000 it gives me another 3000 and so on until it gets to 12000. I'm looking to change my tariff onto a contract tariff and it says unlimited texts but has o2 changed it now so I'd only get 3000 texts if i was to change or would I still get 12000?

on payg the unlimited was reduced to prevent the mass sms spammers using unregistered payg sims.

As to the contract Fair usage policy for sms I am unsure if it is still truly unlimited. Best to ask o2 directly

This is from the pay monthly T&C

 Inclusive Messages and Message Charges

  1. Inclusive messages on Pay Monthly tariffs can be used for texts sent in the UK to UK mobiles from your SIM Card for private and personal purposes. This doesn’t include international texts. You may not use your SIM Card:
    • in, or connected to, any phone other than the one which it was supplied with or the type intended by us for use with. (For example a mobile phone simplicity tariff SIM Card is intended for use in a mobile phone not a modem. This includes putting your SIM Card into a modem, modem usage or internet tethering on your device unless stated); or
    • in such a way that we reasonably believe adversely impacts the service to our other customers.

If we reasonably suspect you’re not behaving within this policy, we reserve the right to impose further charges or disconnect your SIM Card or your tariff at any time, having attempted to contact you first. We call this our ’Excessive Usage Policy‛.
