The decision to not allow existing o2 customers to use the loyalty deals isnt down to o2, its down to uSwitch and MoneySupermarket, as it alls about money they make from you, and as an exisiting customer of o2 its very little...

Good Luck with Voda slight_smile

Strange how they've both stopped at the same time then....

If one stopped, the other could clean up on all existing customer upgrades and increase revenue through volume, so not buying that theory.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Pretty annoying as my existing sim only with O2 runs out in a couple of months and I planned to upgrade via the USwitch route. Ah well. Too little, too late as they say!!

Vodafone doe the same, it makes you empty the basket and then start again, so wouldnt be surprised if they all do this to existing customers.

I tried doing it through online chat with O2 before all this as well. They offered me 30GB for £10 and said they "couldn't match" the uswitch deal. I couldn't upgrade via moneysavingexpert either. Doesn't matter anyway, got my esim set up and with Vodafone now, 70GB for £10. Whether O2 was involved in this or not is irrelevant, the fact I couldn't upgrade and get a good deal was more than enough reason to bin them off. Let's see what happens in 12 months time with Vodafone. Personally, I hate that life is like this nowadays, gas, electric, broadband, car insurance, it's all the same boring deal chasing every damn year, makes for so much more life admin! Anyway, take care people, good luck with getting your deals! slight_smile

Thanks for sending over the link. I'm not happy with O2 though, this was an insult to loyal customers, so I've requested my PAC code today and switching to Vodafone tomorrow.

You're welcome @sc25893 and good luck with your new provider. 😀

Did anyone try this? It's possible that as O2 generates the PAC, they'll somehow block its use on a new O2 contract?

@ricardomax

I would port out,  close the account and then give it 14 days (I would give it 30days) then port back in to o2
