Trip to Germany, concerned about coverage

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have a trip to Germany next month and had planned to use my phone's SatNav but am now not sure if this is a good idea. I recently went to Turkey and while there could not get any internet (other than the hotel wi-fi). I will be travelling by road through Belgium and on to Germany, can I expect to get internet coverage? Even more concerned as, according to O2, most of SE England is covered, yet I cannot get any coverage while driving around parts of the M25.

Yes it does. Download the UK map and try it here before you go. All you need is a GPS signal wherever you are. Have a safe trip. slight_smile

PS I could make phone calls and texts though while in Turkey, and did have roaming turned on.

If you have an Android phone you can download an app called Navfree, which, as the title of the app says, is free, and doesn't need a data connection for SatNav. You can download apps for individual countries, and you can now store the maps on your SD card.

Thanks Bambino that's great, but does it give voice instructions as I will be on a motorbike so won't be able to look at the screen.
