Travel Abroad

I have read the travel advice O2 give for charges abroad which says there is a £40 limit (£120 if you advise them to increase this) for pay monthly customer, but what is not revealed is what happens if you reach this limit? and if you are away over two monthly pay periods is that £40 pounds in each month? I will be in South Africa for a month over Christmas and I dont expect to use my phone extensively.

when you reach the limit it will just stop when you have used 50 mb for £ 40 better than the old £6 a mb

from the international page
Email and browse the internet while you're abroad for less. As standard, your data usage will be capped to 50MB (£40) per month.

Our Data Abroad Bolt On increases your standard data limit to 200MB for £120 per month. You can get the Bolt On through My O2.

Capped is word so you basically get 6.66 mb at £6 then up to 43.34 mb free so the first few mb are the expensive bits

Yes, it applies per billing cycle.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

If you're going to be away for a month, get your phone unlocked, if it isn't already, and use a local sim in South Africa. You can also download the TuGo app and use your allowance for calls and texts over WiFi connections.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
