Toby, I think the biggest issue is the internal scrap rate from the manufacturing plant. Apple have clearly identified and accepted that cosmetic issues are occurring before the customer gets the product so I would expect that to be addressed, also there appears to be quality issues with some components which need addressing. iOS issues wouldn't warrant a new phone as they can be pushed out OTA so it will be hardware issue that are being addressed
