Text message being classed as picture messages

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello, I need some advice please.

I'm a new customer to 02, I recieved my new phone yesterday and sent a text to a few contacts with my new number.

I've just looked at my account today and I've been charged for each contact I sent the text message to as its classing it as a picture message.

Surely this isn't right?

using smily faces in your messages will change them to picture messages.

also, if your messages are over a certain length or you send to multiple people at the same time, you will be charged for a picture message.

best to play safe and turn off MMS in your handset settings

Thanks everyone, I didn't have this with my previous network provider so was quite shocked.

Luckily it was just sent to 20 people but its still a hole in the pocket.

Thanks again.

Usually, more than 5 recipients will trigger mms / bulk messaging charges.

Nothing to do with network.

It's all controlled with the settings on the phone.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
