TERRIBLE Customer service!!!!

To whom it may concern:

I've just been treated really badly by one of your "customer service people" (somebody called Maria, with a rather obscure and incomprehensible northern accent). She was clearly annoyed by me not exactly understanding what I was being offered: dare I say that sometimes mentioning the name of an O2 package is not enough for the average customer. You also need to explain what that package means...
I've been keeping the kindest manners throughout the conversation and yet I was confronted with harsh tone and rudeness. Furthermore I was being told off for talking over her (funnily enough I thought it was the other way round) and finally, to top it all off, she even hang up the phone on me.
Whatever happened to "the customer is always right"? I've never been treated in such a way by any customer service and I am so disappointed that I am even thinking of moving my contract to Orange.

But it is true that the customer's service can be sometimes very rude. On the one side this is understandable because they have to deal with a bunch of sometimes annoying and sometimes stupid questions but on the other hand it is unpleasent to call as a customer and be treated in a rude way.

This post is far too general! Are you saying that you also have been subjected to rude CSA's from O2?

I agree with most here. I have spoken to O2 CS on several occassions and not once have I ever been treated badly. I believe this is because I wasn't rude to them and gave them the courtesy they deserved even when on occassions they were wrong. If you are patient and let them do their job I'm sure any problem can get sorted. By the way, I have a rough Northern Irish accent and if I said something that they did not understand, I was politely asked to repeat it. I've also done some call handling (IT support) and believe me some customers can be a nightmare.

OMG a strong northern Ireland accent, you would never do in customer service. You need to practice speaking with a handful of pebbles in your mouth. I would say a plum but we commoners in northern England and Ireland can't afford such luxuries grin grin
