Support pathetic

Anonymous
Not applicable

I am currently in New York and despite being positively assured that my mobile would work... guess what? It doesn't. So now I can't call for support (phone doesn't work remember). Your support pages provide no support email, so that's no use. Your support 'live chatters' have apparently been busy all day 'chatting to other customers' so I'm not given a link to start chatting. Just exactly how am I supposed to get support to fix this!

Phone is an old Samsung (don't know the model but one of those you can drive a lorry over without damaging). The phone may be the problem as it is old - maybe dosen't support the type of network over here. But O2 made no suggestion that this might be an issue.

It could well be the model of phone not being compatible with the foriegn network, especially as it didn't work on your last visit either.

If it's an old phone it's possibly not triband compatible. As Adam says, maybe a cheap P&G local phone to keep in touch or just enjoy the week and manage without the phone.

Yup I think the old phone may be the problem. My fault for not treatin gmy phone like a fashion accessory I guess; it works (until I come over here) so I've never bothered upgrading for years. Maybe I should consider it sometime!

Thanks for all your help folks. Shame O2 couldn't have been as helpful right at the start!

It would be hard for O2 to have known the foreign network compatibility for every phone they have sold so it may not have been spotted as a problem by them.

Time for an upgrade maybe?
