For the uninititated (or put another way, For ME) - how is a spoiler tag inserted in a message, please?

Also, how does one insert a link to (a) a different thread , and (b) to another message within the same thread?

I know I ought to know but fact is I don't, or if I did I have forgotten.

a specific post just click the small blue message number on the left and again cut and past from address bar

AH! I see now. I have to reduce the width of the spoiler box and then click outside of it. Very clever.
