So if o2 had supported esim second provider a lot of people may have been able to get around the no data issue !

Possibly, @adamtemp64 but only for iPhone users with compatible phones or those with dual sim phones. You also would have to be paying for two providers, and I don't think there are many who are willing or able to do that.

I guess that's true.. seems a lot of faff for the occasional network outage.. but might've saved some a lot of grief

If the second sim was say an equivalent of the o2 payg classic sim it would not be a costly back up etc but for me it would have allowed live traffic updates when not passing free Wi-Fi in central London yesterday !
Yes for iPhones at present but I guess that will eventually change as the technology moves from the m2m internet of things devices , to more mainstream handsets and tablets

@MI5 I guess dual esim is a possibility we will have to see how it goes as with brexit Uk businesses that travel a lot it would be good functionality
