Shared Data

I recently switched to using shared data on my phone, thinking this might be a good idea for my family as we have four iPhones on one account. I should have researched it a bit more first, and ended switching my phone from a SIM only £15 a month contract with 500 minutes and 2GB of data to a SIM only contract for £15 a month with unlimited calls and no data!!

As I don't really make many calls, only about 10/20 minutes a month, when does shared data actually make sense? What I would really like would be something like 200 minutes, 200 texts and shared data for £10.

I am going to switch my phone back to a contract with its own data.

There is no data on the child accounts as it shares the data from the parent account.
All child accounts come with unlimited calls and texts.

I understand the way it works, its just that financial it doesn't appear to save me any money. None of my family need unlimited minutes.
