Samsung Note 2 LTE

Hi

Does anyone have idea when the 02 will launch the Samsung Note 2 LTE?  Also, as 02 ran a 4G trial in London this summer, I guess it would be nice to know when the full 02 4G/LTE service will be rolled out; starting the the major cities?  This is assuming the behind the scenes negotiations regarding the 4G licenses bear fruit.

O2 are also rolling out DC-HSDPA which is very fast and have done 16 major cities already.

Ok so no news on the Note 2. However, the interim DC-HSPDA sounds really good.  The question is will current and new phones support this data connection type - will such a list be published.

Unfortunately, it will be no use to me as I am planning my defection to Android. So other than the aforementioned iPhone5 what about the latest Samsung Android or even windows mobile phones...?

Well if we consider the forthcoming Note 2 then no  as it currently only supports 

3G: HSPA＋ 21Mbps (HSDPA 21Mbps / HSUPA 5.76Mbps)4G LTE: 100Mbps/ 50Mbps (HDSPA 42Mbps / HSUPA 5.76Mbps)

Do I have to wait for the Note 3 or Galaxy S4 then?

That would be 1 - 0  to Apple then!

Just a final note (!) as I promised my kids at the weekend not to keep rattling on about my phone upgrade

If take up a contract with with a Samsung Note 2

• -The O2 DC-HSDPA rollout  is irrelevant as this is clearly targetted at the iPhone5 launch
• -02 4G/LTE service @800Mhz won't come on stream until after the auctions. Do we know when, after the auction conclusion date, the major cities included in the DC-HSDPA rollout will be able to support 4G?  I suspect the same kit used base stations will be able to support both services.
• -In the abscence of 4G I should consider a contract that has cloud access included in the monthly subscription.
• -EE only supports 4G @1800 Mhz which does  nothave the pentration or lower drop off that 800Mhz has.

Any thoughts......

If the talks this week between Operators, the Governement and OFCOM go belly up then we may have to wait even longer for 4G
