I've had my S22 for around a year or so and it's been extremely frustrating.
The battery life of the unit from the start has been awful - i was advised this was normal because the batter "needs time to settle" - however, it's performance is erratic at best : some days with even light use (the odd tweet) i'm getting a few hours , some days it's a bit better. I've tried uninstalling all apps, making sure nothing is running etc. Added on top of this next to no signal anywhere on the Fylde cost. Blackpool, St Annes, Fleedwood, Warton - very poor to no signal.
The unit is frequently boiling hot to touch. Part of this, when discussed with o2, was it may be an unseated internal sim and that may be the reason for the hot / poor battery life. The swap out has made no difference.
I'm paying for the insurance/coverage and i've been advised by both the St Annes and Blackpool staff to return the unit to a Samsung for a replacement. Can you advise that this is how this should go as i will have to travel to Manchester to do this as i can see in the coverage i'm paying for that battery performance -isn't- covered 😕 . I need some form of phone for work so i need to know what i can do to have a replacement without waiting X days for a new unit.
This has been deeply frustrating - i'm paying a large amount of money for a contract that is border line useless and a phone that needs to have 2 or 3 battery packs to be anywhere near functional.

The poor battery life will be due to the low signal strength.
The phone will be constantly searching for a signal and will also explain the over heating.
The only way you can fix this is to move to another network with a better signal.

It's unlikely you will get a new phone seeing your present one is a year old. Best will be a repair via Samsung.
They do have a mobile repair service. See if it operates in your locality.

Presumably you have tried a factory reset?
To be honest you really need to do a backup and start again
Only then should you return it to Samsung for a warranty repair
