I was just wondering I have this number (7802000332) on my bill 3 times now, all calls last 4 seconds. I have goggle'd it, and there is another question on this number, but am wondering what it actually is because I know I havent called it, well until now, I have tried calling it, using numurous country/city codes with nothing to show for it?!? Any help would be appreciated

Edited

Country Code : (+44)
SMS Messaging Centers :
Isle of Man Pronto GSM +447624499955
Vodafone UK +44-7785016005
**** CellNet UK +44-7802000332 ****
Virgin Mobile UK +447958879890
Orange UK +44-7973100973
One2One UK +44-7958879879

Just found this myself, am guessing as it says "SMS Messaging Centers" its a go between for International calls/texts then?!?

I'm sorry but I am new & it was my first message. I found the post by googling the mentioned phone number.

And I am sorry @Anonymous ... My fault for not reading back. Good on you for doing a search anyway. Problem is with old threads some of the information would have changed over the years......but as jonsie said, you wont get charged.

Oh and welcome to the forum...Welcome wink

Don't worry @Choccie03. We were all new once. Firstly welcome to the Community.

As mentioned above by @Anonymous this is almost certainly just an error either on another users part or Boots when they put the details in. It is a way for Boots to offer a great Customer Service by texting customers. I don't believe there is a charge.

I've just returned from a holiday to America and I've got 07802000332 on my latest bill 9 times at £0.40 a time. Whilst on holiday I only sent messages either through What's App or TUGO using WIFI, why would I have these charges if I've not sent text messages?

Anyone help me?

That is the O2 SMS centre number, so it would appear that some sms messages were sent.

I’m in Spain at the moment and have not sent any SMS from my phone and yet this number appears on MyO2 bill nine times each charged at the rate of £0.13. The only thing I can possibly link it to is setting-up call forwarding from one O2 number to another.

Also I am using an iPhone so perhaps it could be iMessage registering on the network?

To add to the above, I have come across the same issue. I have been billed for 15 SMS messages to 07802000332 while on holiday in Morocco. Same as @jTemplar, I only used iMessage and WhatsApp while abroad, on secondary local data eSIM. The timing of the SMS does not align with my use of any service and some took place while I was asleep in the morning.

I have called up the O2 billing team and they have rectified the issue as a 'one-off refund' but I am concerned this does nothing to resolve this apparent technical issue.

@zolacolor

iMessage. Facetime and WhatsApp send background SMS whilst using there services, and this has been going on since the services first started.

These are free when in the UK, but not outside of the UK. hence the chargers and these are legit chargers

- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK
